Día 16 - The show must go on (Innuendo) por Queen

Sin duda una de las canciones más populares del grupo británico QUEEN y, seguramente, la más emotiva de todas. Compuesta y escrita por Brian May, es un homenaje del grupo a su cantante Freddie Mercury, ya muy debilitado por aquella época por la enfermedad con la que llevaba batallando varios años. Mercury únicamente colaboró poniendo voz a la canción, e incluso el propio May tenía dudas en su momento de que pudiera llegar a hacerlo.
La letra para evitar habladurías y polémica es muy metafórica, muy genérica, sin personificar en ningún momento a la persona de Mercury, muy celoso de su vida privada. De hecho, sólo reconoció, mediante comunicado oficial, su lucha contra el SIDA, un par de días antes de su fallecimiento.
A pesar del gran éxito del álbum al que pertenecía, Innuendo, la canción no fue editada como single hasta el año 91, con motivo del lanzamiento del segundo recopilatorio de la banda Greatest Hits II. De nuevo, a modo de homenaje al cantante por parte de la banda, la cara B del single correspondía al tema Keep yourself alive perteneciente al primer disco de QUEEN.
Me gusta muchísimo QUEEN, por muchos motivos, me hace reir, me hace vibrar, pero también me emociona, me mueve y conmueve. Esta canción, ya no solo por su historia, que también, sino por cómo está interpretada, por su letra, por su música, no puedo oirla sin dejar de hacer lo que esté haciendo y escucharla y sentirla. Pocas canciones consiguen eso en mí, los que me conocéis sabéis que prefiero la música sin letra, pero ésta es una de ellas. Aquí os dejo su letra:
